Wonderful Christmas!

What a blessed Christmas we had this year... and once again, just like that, it is over! We rush to get ready and wrap until wee hours of the night, and then in just a few hours, all our preparations are opened and some forgotten. This year my boys liked trying to figure out what was in their presents, but after a couple shirts and a pair of pajamas, they didn't want to open any more "soft presents"... mental note, next year wrap the clothes in boxes! Maggie on the other hand took her pajamas and held them up to her and showed everyone how pretty she is with her new clothes... the differences between boys and girls... isn't God amazing how he plans that??!!

The boys favorite things from Santa were their 4 foot long walleye and blue gill pillows! They were so excited that Santa remembered those. What fun we had this year taking our time and taking each toy out and playing with it for a little while before opening another... I lost Mother of the year again because I forgot batteries for all of the geo tracks trains and planes that Santa brought. OOPS! Oh well... it was a wonderful day... we played rock band and geo and deer hunting in our pajamas all day. What fun!

Today was another whirl wind, celebrating with Becky, JD and the boys. The boys had fun pushing Maggie's new stroller around. Another great day for the books.

I know life isn't perfect and we've had quite a few fights over whose turn it is to play this or that. We definitely have strong willed children, but I wouldn't change a thing. We are blessed in so many ways. Thank you Lord for our family and for all you have done for us. Thank you for bringing our family together today Lord. We love you. Amen.

Give Thanks!

I just wanted to thank everyone for all of the birthday wishes that I got yesterday and this weekend. I got calls from all over the state and country... even one from our exchange student that lived with us while I was in high school, and she is in Brazil! I am so blessed! I have a wonderful family, who are all healthy and happy. I have beautiful children who are all loving and spirited. I have a wonderful, beautiful, gracious husband who perseveres through everything at work and at home and is the best "Da-da" for our children. I have a solid house, that although it may leak and creak, it will never fall down. But most importantly, I have a Savior who died for me... FOR ME!!... so even on those days that I forget that my children are "spirited," and that my husband is working so I can stay home with our kids and do so many things together... when I forget that my house won't fall down and complain because we have a hole in the ceiling, I just remember that I am forgiven for thinking those nasty thoughts. Thank you Lord!

My boys!

So the other day, I ran some laundry upstairs and I hear Maggie crying downstairs, so I run down and ask what happened. William said "I think her belly hurts." "Why does her belly hurt, William?" William replied, "because she has a baby in her belly." To which Garrett replied, "maybe she is having distractions." Only the sons of an OB/GYN would imagine babies and "distractions." Too cute!
When the snow came yesterday, Garrett came up with his yearly response, "Did we put the glue down, so it will stick?" Such logic these boys have. I do love these moments!... gotta go, someone is screaming, probably having distractions!
love,
steph

Halloween

Halloween was a blast! We had over 600 trick or treaters at trunk or treat at our church. Needless to say we didn't need much candy on Halloween. Gram and Papa VanEyk stayed at the house while we made a couple of stops and then returned back to the house for Garrett's favorite part... handing out candy. "Only one please." Gram said that everyone was afraid to come up to the door. Such a scary house! Ha! Then Suzie, Jr., Cole and Cruz stopped by for a visit. How nice it was to have our friends across the park home for the night! Bob had to go into work at 11 and proudly wore his Buzz Lightyear costume. I have been told by many that this made the nurses night... I don't think any one had their baby delivered by Buzz. I can only imagine!! Here we are, all dressed up and here are the boys at trunk or treat. Yes, we had a disney theme!

Halloween planning

OK... so Bob's office is doing the Disney theme for Halloween, so he wanted a Buzz Lightyear costume... When Garrett found out Daddy was going to be Buzz, he wanted to be Buzz, too. (Thank goodness, because the triceratops costume could not be found, would have had to be made!) William said he still wanted to be a Tiger, until the costumes came in the mail. He didn't say much, just wanted to try on the Buzz costume and got really quiet. Needless to say, I just ordered another Buzz for Will. Pictures will be coming soon!
Love,
Stephanie

Beginning

This is just the beginning of a place to (hopefully) record all of the funny things that our beautiful boys and girl say and do and to post pictures as they grow.
